As a jewelry designer/artiste (Ooh, not artist but artiste! Sounds more sophisticated! Lol)...umm, I lost my track of thought. Oh, as I was saying...as an ARTISTE, I tend to have an urgency to "bling out" everything. When I say bling, I don't (only) mean the type of rhinestone-studded , crystallized bling you'd see on a jacket or a pair of sweatpants (omg!) in a Baby Phat store. Sure, I do mean exactly that at times, hence the picture of my cellphone on the left...if you hadn't noticed it there already. But even more so,  I mean throwing some paint and pieces of crackled glass on a plain, wooden dresser, or gluing some gemstones  or seashells on an old wall mirror with the chip on the corner from all the heavy lifting and moving it's endured through the years. It's as if I want to add more life to something that has already "weathered a storm" but is screaming out for its second wind. I have to admit that it gets annoying at times though. Sometimes, I just don't know how to "turn it off" and refrain from dropping everything I do (like a design project or an order that's nearing it's due date in like a second. Geez, I'm stubborn!) to grab that can of old paint from under my kitchen sink to go paint a bare wall...or something else to that effect. I love being an "ARTISTE" (hee hee) but it sure gets inconveniently bothersome at times. But would I change it for the world? Ummmm...... Not in a million years. ;-)

These are the public Patent Drawings of my creation, Chat Strap®, circa 2004. (Read my Meet Apple page) During that time of my  life, I probably slept for only a couple of hours a night. I had worked so hard to make my "vision" happen! I believed in it 100%! It had such potential... LG PHONES even wanted to license it but at that time my Patent wasn't even "Patent Pending" yet. Therefore, I was advised by my lawyer not to proceed. It still did its own little thing though...for the time that it did. It had its own little buzz. But then tragedy struck! (Queue the suspenseful music... Dun, dun, duuuun!) Cellphones got BIGGER! Nooooo! (You know Zoolander was PISSED! Lol) And the suggested forecast for cellphones getting smaller had suddenly become nothing but a cloud of dust on an emptying highway. And nobody was about to start wearing a Blackberry on their wrist, no matter how dope and stylish my Chat Strap® styles were! Lol Oh well... The hype was shortlived...like the TV premiere of an awesome Superbowl Ad commercial that was sadly interrupted by a massive power outage! Yikes! Okay, okay, maybe it'd be more befitting to compare it to "The Little Engine That Could". But all in all, I have to say that it was all well worth the work and sacrifice for me. The blood, the sweat, the tears...even the um, financial investment. (Cough, cough... Excuse me.) Hey, we have to invest in our dreams, right? Whether it be financially or physically or emotionally. There's just no cutting corners on it. What we feed will grow.  It really truly was all worth it because it's more about believing in your vision, your dreams, and the possibilities behind them than it is about the outcome.  Heck, I'm not worried. I got a lot more ideas in me, watch out now!  ... Sigh... Anyway, if anyone still uses a flip phone, email me. I should have a Chat Strap® or two (hundred!) still laying around in stock for you. Lol
